The Augmented Reality Black Friday Experience

The Target Weekly Ad 2-Day Sale (Black Friday) is the most advertised shopping event of the holiday season. The brief was to convert guests who traditionally read the newspaper Weekly Ad during the holidays to explore the online Weekly Ad. We distributed a QR marker across America through a page in the Target weekly newspaper ad. When guests held the marker up to their webcam they were entered into The 2-Day Sale Giftacular Sweepstakes – one of the first augmented reality experiences ever created for a large retail brand.

  • Collaborated with the animation studio FFake to design and storyboard the 3D prize animations
